SNOE Affairs DJ-set & Interview // Carabetta
We’re thrilled to welcome Carabetta to our SNOE Affairs series following the release of his outstanding “Hu$tle Get Rich EP” on SNOE! To celebrate, he put together an exclusive mix packed with infectious grooves and irresistible energy. We also caught up with him for a chat about the inspiration behind the EP, his creative process and everything that keeps him motivated in the studio.
1) How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard you before?
My music is RAW, Big Basslines, and Pumping Kicks…. Combination of my 2 favorite artists. DJ DAN & Carlo LIo…. I’ve been blessed to have learned from a couple of the best…
2) What fascinates you about your art from?
I am living proof that anyone can do this. I am not much of a technical guy.. (Andreas and I had a laugh once, as I am far from knowing studio language and how things work lol). I have a good ear and I know what I want the finished product to be. Just sit in the chair and invest in yourself and the magic will come next…
3) We love your new release. What was your inspiration for the EP?
Hu$Tle Get Rich is when things really started clicking for me. I spent 2 weeks in the studio with Carlo about 2 years ago.. I will forever be grateful for that experience. The track I was watching a Mafia Documentary and Boooom. The idea was born.. Wurst Behavior, I had an afterhours set I was preparing for and made that track over a couple days. I love playing twisted sets…
4) You have an incredible output, how much time do you spend in the studio and do you have specific studio routines?
I literally stayed in the studio the last 2 years learning from Carlo and DJ DAN. My life was a Masterclass. Preparation is key. I like to keep a clean room to help with no distractions. I keep a folder of parts that I use for half a dozen tracks at a time before moving new parts in and out. This helps start to create your sound. My pet peeve is Less is More. Carlo taught me this and its probably the best advise I can give any producer. Lastly, The late DJ DAN taught me to trust myself. Dont overthink.

5) Who are you outside of music?
Outside of music, I am just a regular mort. lol, I love good food, love my gf, and my fam. Love to travel but I also love to be home if that makes any sense.
6) How do you strike a balance between private life and life as an artist?
This is a great question. Honestly to me nobody is bigger then the music. I am just a regular guy who loves this music and the community that comes with it. I fell in love with it probably 25 years ago and never imagined this is what it would have turned into. Lastly, Don’t ever take yourself too seriously…. AGAIN, Nobody is bigger then the music.
7) What are your guilty pleasures?
LOL.. I have a sweet tooth. And every now and then I like to have a little too much fun 😉
8) What is your favourite Norwegian word? 😉
Hmmmm.. Don’t hate me I am not sure I know any words but…… my answer will be Norwegian Cruise Line. Sign me up!!
