Joining us with a fresh mix and some in depth questions is DJ and producer Tobi Kramer. Tobi joined SNOE with his track "Steep Slope" as part of the last SNOEflakes, a track that quickly garnered support and appraisal from some of the biggest artists in the scene.
How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard you before?
It’s Tech House with influences from various musical cultures. A brass section, a guitar or a rap vocal can be part of a song.
How do you get into a creative flow?
I like mornings and coffee. That’s the best condition to get into it. For some inspiration I like to listen to new music on Beatport or SoundCloud.
How do you stay focussed in a world of constant distraction?
I try not to spend too much time on social media. It’s a time eater.
We love your new release. What was your inspiration for the track?
I’m very pleased.
Honestly the first draft came up in the very beginning of 2020. A few weeks before I was at Watergate, Berlin as a guest and Sven Väth was playing there. It was a sick set I was really inspired by.
As so often it remained just an idea, 3 years nothing happened to it. But someday I got back to the project and continued working on it. Finally “Steep Slope” was born.
What is your favourite toy for making music?
It’s FXpansion Geist2. I love it when it comes to programming beats.
Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
My favorite release at the moment is Raw Grooves Vol. 6 on Solid Grooves Raw.
My favorite release of all times is such a hard question. There are too many great releases, I can’t name one favorite.
What can we expect from you in the near future?
I’m always working on new stuff. Watch out for more new songs.
