Long-time SNOE friend Alec Troniq is back with “The Great Slop”, a gritty and bass heavy Tech cut that brings his world and ours together. Known for a quirky, detail-obsessed and experimental approach, Alec never takes the straight road, and his music tends to follow its own logic and style. This approach to music production makes his sound very unique, and is also why we love him so much.
“The Great Slop” keeps the playful character and the sound design curiosity that define his productions, but channels them into a tight, dancefloor-ready groove. The details are intricate. With a touch if dirtiness and a whole bunch of wild energy, the track switches up the groove and gives you a surprise here and there. A classic Alec Troniq tune.
For the remix, the label turns to our favourite Berndt Bechstein, who takes “The Great Slop” in a different, more house flavoured direction. Berndt gives the remix a character of its own. Groove oriented and with a strong core, it mixes pumping synths with tight percussions, while staying true to the original’s strange charm.
Two versions, two perspectives, and a welcome addition to the SNOE catalogue from an old friend.
