Paons is back on SNOE with the Savvy EP, a stripped-back, club-focused release that leans deeper into minimal grooves, effectual vocals, and late-night tension.
Title track “Savvy” locks into a slick, rolling flow driven by tight percussion and a catchy vocal hook carrying subtle Daft Punk-esque energy. It is playful, repetitive, and built to stay in your head long after the lights come on. Paons intentionally pushes into a more reduced and functional direction here, focusing on groove, movement, and dancefloor hypnosis over excess.
Adding another layer to the release, Andre Salmon teams up with Marc Alex for a remix that pushes “Savvy” into chunkier Techno-territory. Heavy low-end pressure, raw percussion, and a tougher edge transform the original into a peak-time weapon while keeping its hypnotic core intact.
On “Loss of C”, things take a stranger turn. Twisted textures and unstable vocal fragments blur the line between control and collapse, as the repeated “control” vocal slowly seems to lose exactly that. Weird and slightly off-center, the track unfolds like a push and pull late-night transmission.
With Savvy EP, Paons explores a leaner and more minimal side of his sound, a side that feels playful, weird, and deeply functional all at once.
